Spotlight On: United Nations Program

In 1945, representatives of 50 countries met in San Francisco at the United Nations Conference on International Organization to draw up the United Nations Charter. GFWC was one of only five women's organizations chosen to participate in the conference support the ratification of the UN.

GFWC has continued our connection to this important global engagement organization, including in our United Nations Program (download as PDF), which educates members and their communities about UN programs concerning women and children, and supports GFWC's presence as a UN Non-Governmental Organization Observer. The United Nations Program includes participation with organizations such as UNICEF, Campaign Against HIV/AIDS, and UNIFEM.
