GFWC - Fundraising Program
Fundraising Program
To continue the important work that GFWC members do across the nation and in their local communities, the Fundraising Program supports club, district, and state fundraising efforts, thus generating nondues revenue to help continue and expand GFWC's community outreach..
CLUB/DISTRICT/STATE FUNDRAISING
Follow the six steps below to ensure successful fundraising projects:
- Organize: Appoint an energetic and enthusiastic fundraising chairman
to plan and manage a continuing program
- Assess Club Needs and Goals: Evaluate the goals, financial needs and obligations of your club
- Develop an Action Plan: Solicit project ideas from club members
- Communication/Promotion: Prepare flyers and contact the media regarding your events
- Go to Work: Schedule members to work the event and have fun
- Evaluate: Appraise the success of an event—financially and otherwise—and use the information to plan future events
GFWC FUNDRAISING
Members also are encouraged to help secure GFWC's financial future by encouraging tax-deductible contributions to the GFWC Endowment
Fund, where only the interest from the principal fund may be spent, ensuring the success of future programs and projects.
Clubwomen can choose to support GFWC through a variety of programs:
- Support the GFWC Legacy Fund.
- Obtain and distribute copies of the GFWC Legacy Fund materials—a series of planned giving opportunities
designed to benefit the donor and benefactor’s financial objectives
- Consider a charitable gift annuity with GFWC
- Encourage members to remember GFWC through a bequest or living trust
- Support GFWC direct mail fundraising programs.
- Educate members on the need for and value of supplementing dues revenue with direct mail fundraising
- Support GFWC’s direct mail fundraising efforts with a tax-deductible donation when notecards, address labels, calendars or holiday cards are received
- Help members understand that participation in direct mail fundraising is strictly voluntary; the gift items are sent to established donors without obligation
- Encourage members to contact GFWC Headquarters if they wish to have their name added or deleted from the GFWC direct mail database
