Thursday, September 4 – Dinner
Lilly Ledbetter, a GFWC Alabama club member since 1999, who is the individual behind the fight to end pay discrimination with her landmark case against Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., is our featured speaker at the opening dinner on Thursday, September 4. Lilly will share her experiences in advocating for the passage of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and talk about the skills, experience, and support she gained and realized as a member of a GFWC club.
Friday, September 5 – Luncheon
Richard Kimball, president of Project Vote Smart, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization that collects and distributes information on candidates for public office in the U.S., will share with us the importance of exercising one’s civic duty in becoming educated about current issues and affairs and voting during our Day on the Hill event.
Saturday, September 6 – Business Meeting
Sarah Sladek, president and CEO of Limelight Generations, will lead us in an interactive session to help us focus our energies on generational recruitment, retention, and marketing.
