GFWC - Awards
Awards
GFWC gives awards for outstanding achievements annually or biennially for each GFWC program. In addition, some resource organizations and funders also provide awards. Awards are granted to eligible state federations, clubs, and individuals. Many awards are made based on reporting, so please check reporting guidelines and the specific GFWC program or project for detailed information and requirements.

Arts in the Community
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Arts in Community Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Arts in the Community Program.
Beautification Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Beautification Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Beautification Program.
Resource Conservation
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Resource Conservation Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Resource Conservation Program.
Lifelong Learning
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Lifelong Learning Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Lifelong Learning Program.
Epsilon Sigma Omicron
- A GFWC certificate will be awarded annually to one state federation in each membership category to recognize outstanding promotion of and participation in ESO. Award presentations will be made in honor of junior and general membership participation.
Literacy Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Literacy Program.
- States:A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Literacy Program.
Heart of America Foundation
- The Heart of America Foundation will award certificates to each club participating in the Books from the Heart program. Certificates will be sent by the Heart of America.
Books for Babies
- Friends of the Library, USA will award certificates to each club participating in the Books for Babies program. Certificates will be sent annually by FOLUSA in 2007 and 2008.
Dollars and Sense Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Dollars and Sense Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Dollars and Sense Program.
Women's Health Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Women's Health Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Women's Health Program.

Reaching Out Internationally
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Reaching Out Internationally Program
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Reaching Out Internationally Program.
United Nations Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the United Nations Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the United Nations Program.
- Clubs: Based on UNICEF-tracked donations, awards will be presented to the three clubs with the highest donations at the 2007 and 2008 GFWC Annual International Conventions.
- States: Based on UNICEF-tracked donations, awards will be given to one state in each membership category with the highest donations at the 2007 and 2008 GFWC Annual International Conventions.
Citizenship Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Citizenship Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Citizenship Program.
- States: Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation will issue certificates of appreciation to those states that have done outstanding work with WIMSA at the end of the two-year administration.
- States: The Department of Veterans' Affairs will issue certificates of appreciation to those states that have done outstanding work with the Department of Veterans' Affairs at the end of the two-year administration.
Safety Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Safety Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Safety Program.
GFWC President's Special Project: Domestic Violence
- Clubs: GFWC will award $500 annually to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in implementing the GFWC Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Program. The award will be based on report narratives. State Domestic Violence Chairmen should forward the winning state entry to the GFWC Domestic Violence Project Chairman by March 15, 2008.
- States: GFWC will award $1,000 to one state federation in each membership category to recognize outstanding achievements in the GFWC Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Program. Award presentations will be made at the 117th GFWC Annual International Convention in June 2008, in Chicago, Illinois, in honor of junior and general membership participation.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Empowering Women One by One Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Empowering Women One by One Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Empowering Women One by One Program.
Fundraising Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Fundraising Program.
- Clubs: A GFWC certificate and a special award will be awarded to one club in each membership category in recognition of outstanding efforts using GFWC endorsed fundraisers.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Fundraising Program.
JENNIE Awards
- The JENNIE Medal of Honor is awarded to one clubwoman from each of GFWC's regions. These women are chosen by their clubs, states, regions, and a national JENNIE Awards Committee at GFWC Headquarters for their outstanding commitment to club, community, and family.
Juniors' Special Project: Advocates for Children
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Junior's Special Project.
- Clubs: State juniors' special project chairmen will select a first place winner for EMSC, CWLA, and CAP involvement.
- Clubs: Emergency Medical Services for Children will present certificates to one club in each state annually, and one club will be recognized nationally for outstanding achievement for EMSC.
- Clubs: Child Welfare League of America will present certificates to one club in each state for outstanding efforts in advocacy for the wellbeing of children and all youth.
- Clubs: Child Assault Prevention will award certificates annually to each participating club.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Juniors' Special Project.
- States: Child Welfare League of America will present one certificate in each membership category annually.
- States: Child Assault Prevent will present one certificate in each membership category annually.
Leadership Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Leadership Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Leadership Program.
Membership Program
- Members: STAR pins celebrate our GFWC member recruitment STARS. Contact GFWC Membership Director Debbe Gladstone for additional information.
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Membership Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Membership Program at the 2007 and 2008 GFWC Annual International Conventions.
- States: A $2,000 award will be presented to one state with the largest percentage increase in membership at the 2008 GFWC Annual International Convention.
- States: A $500 award will be presented to one state in each membership category with the largest number of new federated clubs.
Public Policy and Advocacy Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Public Policy and Advocacy Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Public Policy and Advocacy Program.
Public Relations Program
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Public Relations Program.
Exploring Our Heritage Program: Women's History and Resource Center
- Clubs: $50 will be awarded annual to one club in the nation to recognize creativity in the Exploring Our Heritage Program.
- States: A GFWC certificate will be awarded to one state federation in each membership category, to recognize outstanding achievement in the Exploring Our Heritage Program.
