1930 — On January 8, 1930, U.S. President Herbert Hoover greets the GFWC Board of Directors on the Navy Steps of the Executive Building. During the meeting, President Hoover expresses his need to call upon clubwomen to promote the upcoming London Naval Conference (January 22—April 22, 1930). The London Naval Conference brought together the United States, Great Britain, France, Italy, and Japan to discuss limiting naval armaments.
