The GFWC Ashcake Woman’s Club of Ashland, Virginia may only have 15 members, but the club still manages to make a huge impact on the community.

“It’s amazing so few women can accomplish so much!” said Cara Wallo, GFWC Ashcake Woman’s Club President.


“GFWC organizes women’s voices so we can make a difference at a levels far beyond our local communities.”


Founded in 1999, members enjoy projects like the Annual Ashland Harvest Run and Pumpkin Walk, which raised over $13,550 this year.

“Being a member of the woman’s club has provided many opportunities to give back to my community and to strengthen friendships with wonderful women” Cara said. “GFWC organizes women’s voices so we can make a difference at a levels far beyond our local communities.”
