Founded in 1922, the GFWC Norwalk Woman’s Club of Norwalk, California knows how to keep busy. From raising money for high school scholarships, donating to the Norwalk Food Pantry, supporting Heifer International, and holding fundraisers for the L.A. Center for Alcohol and Drug Addiction, members work together to improve life in Norwalk and the rest of the world.

“Norwalk Woman’s Club is a real working club. We all pitch in to do our bit,” said Betty Lou Larsen, the club’s president who has been a member for 25 years.

Some top projects of the GFWC Norwalk Woman’s Club include donating Christmas gifts to the state mental hospital with Gifts for Giving, supporting reforestation through Pennies for Pines, and promoting literacy efforts in schools by donating books and mentoring students.

“I enjoy knowing that the collective impact of GFWC women taking action has led to historic changes in legislation and continues to be felt today in many health and welfare programs,” said Marilee Stefenhagen, a member of the club.

With 58 members, Norwalk Woman’s Club is known for 92 years of service to the community.
