Call for Workshop Presenters
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Each year, GFWC holds a convention where it strives to offer unparalleled educational and networking opportunities to its members. Club members, guests, resource partners, and staff convene to conduct GFWC business, attend workshops, elect, and install GFWC Officers, promote new programs, present awards, discuss common needs and goals, and foster friendships.
GFWC will hold its 119th Annual International Convention Saturday, June 12, to Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Hilton Omaha and Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.
GFWC is currently accepting proposals for workshop presenters. Please review the following guidelines and return your proposal no later than November 25, 2009.
WORKSHOP INFORMATION
- Workshops should be as interactive, hand-on, and energetic as possible. The participants should not feel that they are in a classroom setting.
- All workshops will be 75 minutes in length.
- If a laptop is needed for the workshop, it must be provided by the presenter. Additional audiovisual requirements must be outlined as part of your response.
- If using handouts, the presenter is responsible for any copies and GFWC must be able to review the materials prior to the Convention.
- Presenter agrees to encourage workshop attendees to complete an evaluation immediately following the workshop.
- GFWC will cover travel expenses (arranged by GFWC) and one night’s lodging at the Hilton Omaha for the primary presenter.
- If there will be a co-presenter, they are responsible for paying for his/her own hotel reservations and travel expenses.
- No sales or promotion of sales materials will be allowed during workshop presentations.
- If you or your organization has expertise in more than one area, you may submit more than one proposal.

All proposals must be postmarked or e-mailed by November 25, 2009, to be guaranteed consideration. Presenters will be notified by February 1, 2010, regarding the status of their proposal.
