Debra "Deb" Strahanoski
Debra Strahanoski has been a dedicated GFWC Illinois clubwoman for 27 years, and is highly regarded as a mentor to many. She brings that dedication and leadership to her role as GFWC Secretary.
Deb’s endless energy has been apparent during her Federation journey, serving her clubs, district, and state in various roles. She has served on the GFWC Illinois Board of Directors as State Project Chairman (Prevention of Child Abuse), Junior Director (2000-2002), President Elect/Dean of Chairmen (2006-2008), GFWC Illinois State President (2008-1010), and as GFWC Illinois Convention Chairman.
Additionally, Deb’s leadership positions have included: GFWC Membership Chairman, GFWC Community Improvement Program Chairman, and GFWC Treasurer.
Deb is not only a powerhouse volunteer for GFWC, but within her community as well. Past positions include: Chairman of the Board of Easter Seals and board member of Prevent Child Abuse Illinois. She is currently Vice President of her local United Way and was the recipient of PCA Illinois’ 2013 Illinois Friend of Children Award.
Deb has been employed with Easter Seals since 2005 as Development Manager, managing all annual fundraising activities and events for the Joliet Region. She credits her career success to the experience, leadership, and communication skills she has acquired through her numerous GFWC relationships.
Additionally, Deb assists her husband Bill of 33 years with his public accounting business. They have two children and one grandchild.
Her extensive experience, coupled with her contagious enthusiasm and love for GFWC has inspired both new and veteran members alike.
