GFWC Annual Conventions
GFWC holds a convention each year, traditionally in the spring and summer months, known as the GFWC Annual Convention. It is the premier event for active clubwomen. GFWC held its first convention in New York City in 1890. Since then, GFWC has held conventions in nearly every state across the U.S. Bringing the convention to various communities across the country gives GFWC clubwomen from varied geographical areas the opportunity to participate in the organization's national and international efforts. Today, the GFWC Annual Convention plays an integral part in the organization's efforts to better serve its members by providing the invaluable opportunity to make and foster lifelong friendships; experience, grow, and learn from professional speakers and workshop programs; and participate in and shape GFWC’s governance, vision, and future.
The location of the Annual Convention alternates in the even numbered years between the eastern and western sections of the United States with the Mississippi River being the dividing line and is selected by the GFWC Executive Committee in acceptance with the Host State or Region. Invitations to host the Annual Convention may be extended by one or more State Federations or a GFWC Region. GFWC is currently accepting invitations for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Annual Conventions. Please contact Headquarters if your state or region is interested in hosting an Annual Convention.
