Helping GFWC Answer Media Inquiries
Have you ever read about GFWC in the newspaper or a magazine and wondered how the reporter found out about us? Or seen one of your fellow clubwomen featured online and thought, "How did they get in touch with her?"
The answer to both of these questions starts with the PR Inquiries mailing list managed at GFWC Headquarters.
Each day, we receive dozens of inquiries from the media asking for individuals or experts to discuss a variety of topics. When a topic of interest is particularly close to GFWC's program work and mission, or seems especially fitting for the women who belong to GFWC clubs, we answer the reporter with information about GFWC and then we send an e-mail to the PR Inquiries mailing list, which consists exclusively of GFWC clubwomen.
If a particular topic applies to you, we ask that you reply immediately with your contact information and details about your story so that we can pass it along to the media outlet. We then share your details with the reporter and try to persuade them to feature GFWC and our members in their stories.
Again, the only way to find out about these opportunities is to join the PR Inquiries mailing list. To join the list, send an e-mail to our Public Relations department with the word "Subscribe" in the subject line.
NOTE: The PR Inquiries mailing list experiences a higher volume of e-mail than most other GFWC communications. You can expect 3-4 e-mails per week asking for your input, and responses are usually required within a matter of hours. You can unsubscribe from the list at any time by sending an e-mail to our Public Relations department with the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
