GFWC Priority Issues
GFWC is working through its grassroots network of advocates to support legislation that is crucial to the mission of the Federation. The following issues are current topics that GFWC advocates are focusing on. Due to the transition from the 110th Congress to the 111th Congress many bill numbers are subject to change. Healthcare for Women and Their Families
GFWC supports legislation aimed at keeping women and their families healthy. Our resolutions cover a significant range of women's and family health issues, including comprehensive insurance coverage of breast cancer screenings and treatment, diabetes awareness and prevention, early detection and treatment of all gynecological cancers, further public investment into long-term care, and many more. GFWC supports the following women's healthcare legislation:

International Affairs
GFWC has a long history of international advocacy. The Federation holds the distinction of being one of only five women's organizations chosen to participate in the 1945 conference to form the United Nations. We have multiple resolutions in support of the United Nations and are working on ratification of two specific U.N. Conventions not currently ratified by the United States , as well as a bill to fight extreme poverty across the globe.
