For more than 117 years, the General Federation of Women's Clubs has provided women across the globe with tools, resources, networking opportunities, and guidance to enhance the lives of others in their local communities. GFWC also enriches the lives of members through education, training, and leadership opportunities, so that GFWC clubwomen are well-rounded and fully prepared to identify and work on the issues in all areas of their lives.
In 2008, GFWC is sharing a number of outreach projects with our members:
»GFWC Passion Project is a year-long exploration of personal commitment and dedication to an issue that touches each individual member. Throughout the year, we will provide resources to empower clubwomen to embrace what matters most to them.
»My Volunteer Year offers insight into the life of a typical GFWC clubwoman, Allison Yezek, who is sharing her year of volunteer work with the rest of GFWC. We are following Allision through her own exploration of the Passion Project, finding out more about the activities and projects of her club, following her to events and conferences, and learning more about integrating volunteer work into an already full and busy life.
»"Hats, gloves, and bags are still part of our tradition." Find out how the sterotypical image of women's clubs is true, in ways you may never have imagined! Member clubs will participate in a nation-wide publicity campaign to share the achievements of GFWC and tell the unique stories of their individual club successes.
