GFWC clubwomen are advocates in the truest sense—they rally around issues of national importance and demonstrate the potential impact for communities around the country. Our network of grassroots volunteers works to identify priority issues, share knowledge with members and supporters, advocate on behalf of the Federation’s vision, and form coalitions with organizations that share GFWC’s mission.

Federation advocacy has contributed to the passage of some of the most important legislation in the history of the United States. Our rich history of advocacy includes campaigns for child labor laws, women’s suffrage, pure food and drug statues, guaranteed rights for people with disabilities, and sensible gun control.
GFWC policy positions are adopted as resolutions that determine the foundation for our members’ legislative actions. From letter writing campaigns to media outreach and visits to Capitol Hill, our members work to further the issues and causes that are integral to GFWC’s mission of community improvement.
