GFWC International President:
Sarah Sophia Platt Decker, fifth international president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, 1904—1908. Sarah was a proponent of education, labor, pure food and drug laws, and civil service reform. Her travels alerted her to the need for the General Federation to provide greater educational resources to the state federations and clubs, which led to the creation of GFWC's Bureau of Information.
