2019 Awards and Top Projects Announced
July 15, 2019
Each year, the Top Projects are selected by GFWC chairmen who weigh in on the State Award and Club Creativity Award submissions from State Chairman. They show the cream of the crop of projects within each of the Community Service Programs and Advancement Areas. Clubwomen are encouraged to take inspiration and try the projects in their own communities.
The 2019 Awards were presented at the 2019 GFWC Annual Convention in Austin. From GFWC Program Awards to Partner Awards, clubwomen, clubs, and State Federations are recognized for the incredible work they do all year long.
Volunteers in Action: GFWC New Hampshire, GFWC Shorewood Woman’s Club (Wisconsin), GFWC Northborough Junior Woman’s Club (Massachusetts), GFWC Potpourri Glenwood and GFWC Starbuck (Minnesota), Taunton and Raynham Junior Woman’s Club (Massachusetts), GFWC Pocono Mountain Women’s Club (Pennsylvania), and GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club (Wisconsin)
Preshus Howard is about to celebrate her 10th anniversary as a clubwoman, and her time with GFWC has been a journey of discovering her own strengths and how she can use them to help others. As GFWC Kentucky’s Director of Junior Clubs for the 2016-2018 Administration, Preshus has been proud to use her position to rally clubwomen around causes that matter to her.
Success For Survivors Scholarship
Each year, GFWC awards scholarships to help intimate partner abuse survivors obtain a post-secondary education that offers a chance to reshape their future by securing employment and gaining personal independence.
GFWC Woman's Club of Westminster
The GFWC Woman’s Club of Westminster (Maryland) has an annual project that corresponds with one of International President Brock's Seven Grand Initiatives. Every year the club partners with Penguin Random House, one of the area’s publishing houses and distributor of books, to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
