A Memorable Women’s History Month Event
March 10, 2022
On March 9, GFWC continued its tradition of celebrating Women’s History Month in honor and commemoration of the contributions to women in history and contemporary society. Clubwomen and other guests were invited to a fun and educational afternoon featuring guest speaker Stephen A. Hansen, architectural historian, historic preservation specialist, and author.
Hansen is the author of A History of Dupont Circle: Center of High Society in the Capital, which chronicles the neighborhood of GFWC Headquarters. During the event, he shared stories about the history of the Dupont Circle area and its earliest residents with attendees. Following his riveting presentation, Hansen offered book signings to anyone interested.
