New Comment Feature on GFWC Blog
October 24, 2019
GFWC strives to create opportunities for its members to share information and learn from each other’s successes with projects, programs, and leadership. One way is through the GFWC Blog, which posts a collection of Volunteers in Action stories that celebrate the accomplishments of individual members, clubs, Districts, states, or Regions across the Federation weekly. Comments and congratulations can be posted at the bottom of each post in response to member news about a variety of topics, including successful service projects and events, awards and honors, groundbreaking initiatives, community partnerships, and more.
Visit the GFWC Blog now. We look forward to seeing your comments!
If there is time in the day to lend a helping hand, Irene Iverson will do it. A member of two GFWC clubs and recent honoree of the One OC Spirit of Volunteerism Award for 2014, Irene has been an active leader in her community since she joined the Red Cross as a volunteer at 15.
Success For Survivors Scholarship
Each year, GFWC awards scholarships to help intimate partner abuse survivors obtain a post-secondary education that offers a chance to reshape their future by securing employment and gaining personal independence.
GFWC Marlton Woman’s Club
The GFWC Marlton Woman’s Club (New Jersey) has 41 members who are always trying to put a smile on the faces of others. President Lisa Levin said, “My goal has always been to work together as a club, making our members shine, and making a significant difference in the lives of others.” She also encourages leadership and engagement by motivating members to be a chairperson or to be part of a committee.
