Dear GFWC Friends,
After a year of remote meetings, I am hopeful that we will be sharing hugs and laughter at the 2021 GFWC Annual Convention. What a joy that would be! Whatever the future holds, however, I know we will meet any challenge to move forward in true clubwoman spirit – with passion and excitement.
View the preliminary agenda for an in-person meeting, subject to change. Though the schedule is slightly condensed from our normal routine, it is jam-packed with the opportunities our members have come to expect: business sessions that enhance the work of our organization, workshops from both GFWC leaders and Affiliate Organizations, celebrations and awards, and times to learn, share, socialize, and connect.
The theme for this year’s event is “Celebrating Culture, Cultivating Connections.” Culture reflects a society’s values and customs, and provides a means to relate to and understand one another. Cultural awareness promotes effective communication and profoundly increases the ability to appreciate and enjoy a variety of new people and experiences. Connecting with each other as individuals or in groups, gives us the opportunity work to together to bridge the cultural divides that hinder our efforts to have a positive impact in our communities and around the world.
Of the many gifts that GFWC has provided me, one of the greatest has been the opportunity to travel to 45 State Federations and one International Affiliate, and to experience and enjoy the many things that unite us. Our time together has helped me see that I have a lot to share, but yet I still have much to learn. How lucky we are to step outside of our everyday routine once each year and come together in friendship and earnest pursuit of improving the lives of others.

GFWC International President
Serving as MVR President has been a wonderful experience. I’ve been able to work with members from my own state of Missouri for my first Region Conference and from Iowa for my second Regional Conference. Having been able to get to know our International President, President-elect, and the Presidents from the other 7 Regions has been an enlightening and wonderful experience. I’ve learned so very much from each of them!
Success For Survivors Scholarship
Each year, GFWC awards scholarships to help intimate partner abuse survivors obtain a post-secondary education that offers a chance to reshape their future by securing employment and gaining personal independence.
GFWC Lawrence Classics Club
The GFWC Lawrence Classics Club (Kansas) has 19 members, and it’s an incredible mixture: one charter member has been involved since 1997; one member has been part of GFWC since 1960; there are a mother and daughter pair who are 2nd and 3rd generation clubwomen; four members are Boosters; and their youngest member only graduated from college last year. This assorted group shares the same values about volunteerism and puts them into action.
