February: A Month of Raising Awareness to Support Youth and Education

GFWC clubs throughout the Federation are very active in their communities this month, participating in several important community service efforts this February. Healthy Relationship Forums led by certified counselors to help youth recognize the warning signs of an unhealthy relationship. Supporting community libraries to celebrate to love of reading. Educating children about the important role that dental health plays in overall health.
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, National Library Lover’s Month, and National Children’s Dental Health Month. GFWC is proud of its clubs for their continued commitment to domestic and sexual violence awareness and prevention, health and wellness, and furthering education.

Bethany Flint
When Bethany Flint first joined a Juniorette club in 2004, GFWC was already a significant part of her life due to her mother being a club member for many years. Now after years of being part of the Federation herself, Bethany loves it just as much as she did when she joined.
Success For Survivors Scholarship
Each year, GFWC awards scholarships to help intimate partner abuse survivors obtain a post-secondary education that offers a chance to reshape their future by securing employment and gaining personal independence.

GFWC Marlton Woman’s Club
The GFWC Marlton Woman’s Club (New Jersey) has 41 members who are always trying to put a smile on the faces of others. President Lisa Levin said, “My goal has always been to work together as a club, making our members shine, and making a significant difference in the lives of others.” She also encourages leadership and engagement by motivating members to be a chairperson or to be part of a committee.
